7 2010 Transportation Demand Existing Background Trips (Average Weekday): 6.0 million trips per day in the Metro Vancouver region 2.7 million trips per day in the City of Vancouver Olympic Transportation Trips (Peak Day): 400,000 trips for all venues 300,000 trips for City venues 100,000 trips for Live Sites

8 2010 Transportation Supply Venue or Security Restrictions: More limited transportation network Pedestrian Linkages: Potential reallocation of street space Routing and Traffic Management: Focused restrictions on corridors between venues Transportation Demand Management: Reduce background vehicle trips by shifting to walking, cycling, transit and carpooling

9 To Olympic Lane or Not ??? OLYMPIC LANE: Roads, or lanes within roads that are dedicated to Olympic vehicles during Games-Time Examined our legislative ability to create & enforce 75 kms of Olympic Lanes for Turino 2006 Games

12 Olympic Road Ahead To manage all of the requests for COV street ROW for the Games From parking restrictions to festival permits to security closures to Olympic Lanes Received 1 st Round of submissions from partners on May 30th
