SRM on a triple quad is more sensitive than full scan MS/MS in an ion trap because both Q1 and Q3 are parked on a single m/z ion. This means are nearly 100% duty cycle because both mass analyzers are dwelling on a single ion. In the trap we must do an accumulation, which takes time and translates into a loss of sensitivity.
