Introduction Tourism industry is one of the largest and fastest growing industries in both developed and developing countries worldwide. In recent years the Tourism Sector in Tanzania recorded increasing number of tourist arrivals from 582,807 in 2004 to 770,376 in 2008 (MNRT 2010). In the same period receipts rose from US $ 746 million to US $ 1,288.7 million. Regardless the increase of tourist arrivals, Tanzania needs to improve the provision of quality tourism products and services. This, in turn, suggests that education and training is vital to the development of the industry
