Grading System 12 point grading system (12=A+) For a half credit course, 6.0=A+ Each letter grade represents a percentage range (A+=90-100%) GPA=Grade Point Average All your grade points divided by the number of credits

Progressing through your program… Progression Requirements Assessed every 4.0 credits For honours, need a 5.0 (63-66% or a C) overall average and a 5.0 average in your honours courses To graduate, a 5.0 overall and a 7.0 in honours courses Your GPA’s are cumulative BA/BEd – 7.0 or 70% in your arts courses and 70% in your Education and pass your practice teaching

Contemporary Studies…

Contemporary Studies Contemporary Studies examines current issues from an interdisciplinary perspective and provides the problem solving and research skills that every informed citizen needs to be a contributing member of society. Contemporary Studies is a part of every program at Laurier Brantford

Honours Contemporary Studies o 2 of: CT111, CT/ID120, CT121, CT122 o 4.0 credits o Honours CT students are also eligible to register for CS/PP201, CC/CT/OL221, CT/OL224, GS101 and HS200 in their first year

Honours Criminology All Criminology students complete the requirements of the CT major 2 of: CT111, CT/ID120, CT121, CT122 CC100 3.5 credits Should register for at least 1 of CC200, CC202, CC203, CC/ID204, CC205 CC/CT/OL221

Transfer Students Offer of Admission will indicate transfer student status Transfer credits are listed on the Offer of Admission If you received between 0.5 or 1.0 transfer credits – register in Brantford courses, not a senior student If you received between 1.5 and 3.5 transfer credits, can take senior courses in the winter (must have prerequisites) If you received 4.0 credits or more you are a senior student and can take senior courses in f/w Registration for year two students begins July 3

Transfer Students HCC 6.0 transfer credits – can take senior courses in the fall Typically will receive:3.5 jr. misc., CC100, CT121 and CT/ID120, 1.0 senior CT Junior credit limit of 7.0 credits includes transfer credits

Transfer Students HCT with CED 5.0 transfer credits – can take senior courses in the fall Junior credit limit of 7.0 credits includes transfer credits Take 2 of CT111, CT/ID120, CT121 or CT122 PS100* and SY101
