2 Citizen or Bushranger? Top photograph – Northcote carpenter Charles Verso became a local councillor in 1883 and Northcote Mayor in 1887. Bottom photograph – James Kenniff and his brother Patrick were the last Australian bushrangers. They stole horses and cattle in Queensland from 1895-1902.

3 Citizen or Bushranger? Top photograph – John Fuller aka Dan ‘Mad Dog’ Morgan was a notorious bushranger of NSW and Victoria in the 1860s. Bottom photograph – Richard Tobin was the first Northcote Headmaster and a founder of the Northcote community.
