Long Term Goals To display the Club and it’s ventures and activities to the Community in an informative way. The key word for delivery of all information is ENTHUSIASM. To spread the word about the Eltham Rotary Club & about Rotary International with an ‘in your face’ approach with easy contact and accessibility so that when we do attract prospective members, sponsors and supporters they can easily log-on to website, pick up a phone or send an email an get an immediate response. To show a personal, human touch to the club, demonstrating to the wider community that the members are ordinary people like them who are community conscious and prepared to dedicate time back to the community that supports them. Being the year in which one of our members becomes the District Governor (Alan Anderson), we will focus heavily on the Conference and supporting & promoting the Projects which he undertakes.

SHORT TERM GOALS To keep Club members informed about what we are doing This has been done quite efficiently with committee directors filling in the members on a weekly basis and through the newsletter. To keep the website updated. Thanks to the efforts of Rosie Shilo the website is by far a modern, informative and interactive tool for the club. There is need though to advertise the web address more widely so that it is used more often. Also to obtain & assess the website statistics of usage. To expand the Clubs exposure in the Community – signs, banners, newspapers, local magazines & publications. In 2010 we have joined with the Leader Newspaper & 88.6 FM Plenty Valley radio and with this media we will expand the clubs exposure activities. Banners designed by Rotary International will be purchased and positioned in strategic locations with the ‘personal’ touch showing the human side of Rotary. We will advertise in the Eltham Chamber of Commerce magazine which is distributed to numerous locations in the district. To distribute our bulletin to areas where there is a high public presence – Doctors waiting rooms, business offices, libraries, etc. This activity can be covered more strategically and economically in conjunction with the Eltham Chamber magazine which is already in distribution. To work closely with other club committees and assit them in advertising their endeavours and achievments to the community.

Ongoing 2010 - 2011 BUSINESS CARDS / POSTCARDS – THIS WAS STARTED WITH THE POSTCARDS WHICH WERE USED TO INVITE GUESTS & PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS. THESE WILL BE CONTINUED TO BE DISTIBUTED AGAIN THIS YEAR. THE ROTARY FESTIVAL – CONTINUED WITH THE ELTHAM CHAMBER, THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS, PLENTY VALLEY FM. TO DEVELOP A BI-ANNUAL DOCUMENT WHICH CAN BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY. THIS CAN BE DONE MORE EFFICIENTLY WITH THE ELTHAM CHAMBER MAGAZINE WHICH IS ALREADY PRODUCED BI-ANNUALLY, IS PROFESSIONAL LOOKING AND WIDELY DISTRIBUTED. WEBSITE -THIS IS NOW UPGRADED AND LOOKS VERY PROFESSIONAL & INFORMATIVE. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AQUABOX WEBSITE IS NOW ALSO IN PLACE. NEWSLETTER – THIS WILL CONTINUE TO BE UPDATED WEEKLY FOR MEMBERS INFORMATION. THE SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENTS WITH THE LEADER & PLENTY FM ARE ONCE AGAIN IN PLACE AND WILL BE USED TO PROMOTE THE CLUB MORE EXTENSIVELY. SPRAY JACKETS – THIS WILL BE ONCE AGAIN VISITED AND QUOTED. BANNERS AND BILLBOARDS – FOR FESTIVAL & ONGOING ADVERTISING THE HUMAN SIDE OF ROTARY. THE CREATION OF A PROFESSIONAL BROCHURE WHICH CAN BE GIVEN TO PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS AND SOMETHING EACH ONE OF US WOULD BE PROUD TO HAVE IN OUR BUSINESSES, WHICH IDENTIFIES THE ROTARY CLUB OF ELTHAM, IT’S MEMBERS AND THEIR HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS.
