1. Ready to go with Janison? Some starting tips

2. Before you start Know what you want to do Work out a file structure, order or grouping of pages Type the text content out first on a word processor and paste to the web page – Janison doesn’t spell check Have your resources ready to upload – images, power points, documents

3. About text Use a simple font eg Arial 12 font as your main text Do the formatting eg font changes, bold, underlining, coloured text in Janison, not the word processor, as many formats don’t transfer Avoid fussy or dark backgrounds

4. About images You must have these saved (eg jpg,wmf) to upload – you can’t just cut and paste from a document Don’t have them too large – its easier to fit them on the page Don’t have them too large a file – the more kilobytes you upload, the longer it takes for students to download

5. Don’t panic! When things don’t work as you think they should (and this will happen) Check your typing of URL links – you might have missed a letter or / Log off & then log back in Take a break Ask for help – Teresa, Maria, Jill
