2 Context Middle Years of Schooling (MYS) Postgraduate Coursework programs GradCert & MEdSt (MYS) Courses: EDUC7039: Pedagogy, Curriculum & Assessment for the Middle Years of Schooling EDUC7040: Youth & Futures EDUC7038: Rethinking Teaching: Professional issues for MYS teachers

3 Issues Alignment and refinement of assessment design based on MYS principles modelling of teaching practices (e.g., writing criteria) Intended outcomes Build more systematic assessment practices Further develop our expertise and leadership in assessment; and Support independent research and consultancies in working with schools on assessment issues

4 Plan 2007 √ Review TEVALs √ Map assessment tasks & rubrics √ Survey students completing all three courses (survey administered – waiting for responses) Interview target group about issues raised Revise tasks & rubrics for all assessments 2008 Evaluate TEVALs for the 3 MYS courses
