4. Some Advice from Sweden and Experience from WA (Critical Success Factors – what we have learned) 1.Understand the problem and possible responses – use data and evidence. There are many opinions and many popular ideas but apply the Litmus test – will they save lives and reduce injuries? If in doubt – Pilot. 2.No Blame Approach – we do not want this problem to continue and we will focus on what can be done to improve it. 3.Shared Responsibility – no finger pointing – we all have a role to play and will focus on what we can each contribute. 4.Be Practical and Realistic – in what we can achieve (get runs on the board, experience success to give energy and encouragement). Consider ease of implementation. 5.Choose areas/issues where we can make the biggest difference for the most people – prioritise – can’t do it all.
