2. EDT 608 Unit 2 The following is a recent presentation made to the CELL-ebrating Literacy Conference in Anaheim, CA. This slide show provides an introduction to a variety of methods in which K-12 teachers can integrate technology into their curriculum using a balanced literacy approach. It contains examples of classroom technology, projects, description of a balanced literary framework, and examples of lessons.

10. EDT 608 Unit 2 Independent Reading It is important that teachers and parents provide the students with a variety of reading materials that allow the students to make independent choices and demonstrate and exercise their reading interests, strategies and abilities. Part 2

EDT 608 Unit 2 Independent Writing Independent writing opportunities such as daily journals provides regular opportunities for students to explore and experiment with the writing process and demonstrate their own abilities to act as authors. This activity helps them to establish a connection between reading and writing.

EDT 608 Unit 2 Guided Reading Guided Reading is used to support students in the learning of the reading process as well as helping them to learn and practice their various reading strategies (Does it make sense, etc.) The students read texts in small groups at their instructional level.
