2  Create an ID card which represents you. This could be who you really are or who you would like to be.

3  Your ID card will include 1. A picture of you 2. A background which represents something about you. e.g. – Your favourite place, your favourite colour, An image from your culture etc. 3. Text about who you are

4  How to cut out images  How to crop images  How to do basic editing on Bitmap images using Corel Photopaint  How to generate different effects in Corel Photopaint  How to use the layers palette in Corel Photopaint  How to use text tools in a Bitmap program

5 Picture of you (edited to look great) Text about you Background image, colour or paint texture The date Other bitmap or Vector images you Draw or find on the internet Changed background of your original photograph

6  Copy image of yourself off Miss Visser’s folder on the student drive.  Open a new Corel Photopaint document  Paste the image of yourself in to Corel Photopaint.  Tips: Short cuts for Copy C + CTRL and Paste V + CTRL

7  Crop your image using the Marquette tool and Image – Crop  Cut out your image using Image - Cutout Lab  Make adjustments to your image using Adjust – Image Adjustment Lab The most important thing you need to know is hit CTRL + Z to undo!!!!!!

8 Change your document size to the size of a normal ID card. Play to create different backgrounds Try using -The Effects Palette -The Paint Brushes -The Magic Wand Tool -The Opacity slider in the layers palette -The Layer palette effects

9  Re-cap “how do we do all of those things we have done already but forgotten how we did them?”  Combine images by dragging your picture onto the background.  Working with layers in the object palette  Saving your work as a flat jpg  Combining Jpg images onto one page  Emailing Jpg to astridv@mgc.school.nz

10 Save your finished 85mm x 50mm ID card as a jpg Open a new A4 document Import your saved jpg Arrange a page with two final copies of your ID card an a smaller copy with notes about why you chose the images/colours you have used. Save this page as a jpg Open a new email and attach this jpg page Email to astridv@mgc.school.nz
