4 1.6. Economy and Society in Al- Andalus 1.6.1. Economics Activity –Al-Andalus had a prosperous economy. Most of them worked in agriculture. The main crops were cereals, grapes (vid) and olives –The Muslims introduced innovations, which had long-lasting consequences They developed irrigation techniques: a network of mills (red de canales, acequias).
