Invention: Athletic Shoe  The athletic shoe that Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight made had more elevation.  When they made the Waffle Shoe those were the most popular out of all the athletic apparel shoes they made.  In one Olympic trial 3 of the first runners wore Nikes.  From endorsement deals they made a lot of money on the shoes like superstar Michael Jordan had a catchy slogan that said “Just do It”  Then Athletic shoes and Nike went public in 1980

Inventor: Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight  Phil Knight in 1958 had a business major at the University of Oregon.  Phil was on the track team and his coach was Bill Bowerman.  Bill didn’t like the clumsiness of the American running shoe.  They both formed a company in 1964 to make a better shoe.  Then in 1968 the company was called Nike
