7 Vamos a practicar Please STAND UP, walk around & introduce yourself to 4 different people USING the SPANISH phrases we just learned & your SPANISH CLASS name!!! Example: – A: ¡Hola! Me llamo Sra. Rump. ¿Còmo te llamas? – B: Me llamo Monica. – A: Mucho gusto Monica. – Both people move to the next person. – 4 minutos 7Sra. Waters

8 Compañeros Compañero= conversation partner 4 step process 1.Select a person sitting next to you at your table group/ a seat mate whom you’ll feel comfortable speaking Spanish with. I’ll let you choose from your group for round 1. IF the compañeros aren’t working, then I’ll SWITCH you. 2.Decide who’s going to speak 1 st. They raise their hand when Sra. Rump say “Empezamos” 3.Following examples, begin your conversación/ review practice. Then switch when your done, so that your compañero has a chance to start the conversación. 4.Listen for the “Silencio” command from Sra. Waters which is your clue to stop conversing & be silent! Let’s practice…. 2x’s Find your Compañero……. ¿Empezamos?..... ¡Silencio!

9 Spanish for Dummies Watch 3 videos from Spanish for Dummies. Repeat vocab. After 3 rd video chart the differences between the 2 conversation types. 3 rd video will discuss cultural reasons for being careful when meeting someone for the 1 st time. 9Sra. Waters

11 ¿Preguntas? Together let’s list common phrases you use to greet & say goodbye to people in English….. Where are my actors-- Can I have two estudiantes demonstrate in English how you usually greet a friend? A teacher? An elderly person at your place of worship OR at the grocery store? 11 Compare these conversaciones we just saw to ones you’ve experienced here in the US? How are they similar to your experiences? Are there differences?
