2 Athletes are people who compete in the Olympics which started in 776 BC. They compete for medals in different sports.

3 Biathlon is cross-country skiing with a riffle. There are five different ways to participate in Biathlon; Individual Start, Sprint, Pursuit, Relay and Mass Start.

4 Curling is a sport that started more than 500 years ago! It started by people throwing stones on frozen ponds.

5 Robbie Dixon is an Alpine Skier that is an athlete in Canada. His nick name back home is Dixie.

6 Joel Eriksson is one of the athletes that is competing in the Olympics. He is a Swedish Speed Skater.

7 Figure Skating can be performed as Singles, Pairs and Ice Dancing. It is a graceful sport that can be played at the Olympics.

8 Glowing Hearts is the motto for the 2010 Games. When you see it you think of the Olympics.

9 The country of Hong Kong is competing in the 2010 Olympics. It is a very populated city.

10 The Inukshuk is designed to resemble a human figure. It is traditionally constructed by the Inuit in the 1800’s to 1900’s.

11 Mascot’s have cheered on athletes for many years. It gives athletes encouragement for races and events. Sumi, Quatchi, Miga

12 Nordic Combined is a mix of Alpine Skiing and Cross Country Skiing. It was originated in the 1800’s in Norway.

13 Christian Obertstolz is from Italy. He participates in Luge.

14 Erin Pac is apart of a Bobsled team. She is from the United States.

15 Jonathan Quick plays on the Ice Hockey team. He is also from the United States.

16 Carmen Radenovic is from Romania. She is apart of the bobsled team.

17 Aliona Savchenko is a Figure Skater. She is from Germany.

18 Tickets are being sold in many different ways. They are for games of your choice or opening and closing ceremonies.

19 Uzbekistan is one of the many competing countries. They have two Alpine Skiers and one Figure Skater.

20 Vancouver is where the Olympics of 2010 are being held. It is also going to hold many people in their stadiums.

21 Whistler is where Bobsledding, Luge and Skeleton are being held. Whistler is also holding the events that have to do with skis.

22 Experience is what the athletes need to be able to participate. The athletes have trained for many years and for will train for many more. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are things athletes get from experience.

23 Jumpei Yoshizawa is in Short Track. He was born in Japan and is still is a resident there.

24 Miriam Ziegler is from Australia and is a figure skater. She is 15 and is already competing!

25 Gold: 14 Silver: 7 Bronze : 5 Go, go Kristina Groves you work so well with the ice and snow, you race so fast you can’t be beat, even in the toughest times through snow and sleet
