2 History The B-2 Bomber was originally supposed to be called the B-1 bomber but couldn’t afford it. The B-2 bomber was first successfully introduced in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. The US air force originally ordered 132 bombers but only have 21 left. The first flight of it took place on July 17 1989. It’s Manufacturers are Northrop Corp. and Northrop Grumman
