Quadratic By Factoring DeAdra Zackery & Briana Williams
2
Topic A "quadratic" is a polynomial that looks like "ax 2 + bx + c", where "a", "b", and "c" are just numbers. For the easy case of factoring, you will find two numbers that will not only multiply to equal the constant term "c", but also add up to equal "b", the coefficient on the x-term.
3
Steps 1.original equation. 2.factor. 3.zero product property. 4.solve for your solution. Ex: x 2 +6x-7=0 (x+7)(x-1)=0 x+7=0 x-1=0 Solution is X=-7 x=1

Solving Quadratic Equations by Factoring Solve each equation by factoring. 1. (k+1)(k-5)=0 2.(a+1)(a+2)=0 3.(4k+5)(k+1)=0 4. x2 − 11x+ 19= −5 5.n2 + 7n+15 = 55.
