4 Links very strongly to graduate attributes: Working and living in a global society – global citizenship; Ethical principles; Employability; Problem solving skills and flexibility to engage with novel situations. Engages students with real-life applications, showing them the relevance of their subject. Bringing Psychology to life and life to Psychology….? 4 Opportunities

5 Preparing graduates for jobs that do not yet exist Using knowledge that isn’t yet known And technology that hasn’t been invented. Preparing students for life? 5 Psychological literacy – what does it do?

6 What will you do? How will you do it? Teaching and assessment issues? CPD issues? What human and other resources are needed? What sign off is needed? What is the timeline? What challenges and opportunities are involved? How will you and your teams ensure constructive alignment? 6 What next?

7 To develop psychological literacy in our students, we need to model it as academics, for example: Learning and teaching using psychological principles; Problem solving; Interactions with students; Inclusivity. (McGovern, 2011). 7 What are the issues?

8 To what extent are you fluent in your own psychological literacy? Your colleagues? What is the best idea you’ve heard or had today? How will you overcome any challenges you’ve identified? What change will you make to your own practice? Any questions for the speakers or for each other? 8 Discussion
