Module Aims To provide participants with the opportunity to develop, practice and gain feedback on their learning skills To support participants in developing confidence in managing their own learning

At the end of the module the learner will be expected to be able to: Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of approaches to learning With guidance, analyse questions and assignments in order to provide appropriate responses Identify his/her own strengths and weaknesses in learning Set out a learning and study plan Module Outcomes

My Personal Learning - Session Aims My Personal Learning - Session Aims At the end of this session you will have :- Reflected on your learning history Analysed your strengths and weaknesses as a learner

Your Learning History We are all unique as learners. There is no single method of learning that guarantees success Through identifying your personal strengths and weaknesses as a learner this will enable you to develop new learning approaches and enhance your ability to learn across a range of contexts.

Activity 1 Record your findings in your learning journal or the worksheet. Your past learning:- Identify one good learning experience Identify one less enjoyable learning experience For both of these experiences reflect on:- What were you learning ? ( knowledge /skill etc) How were you learning this ? (observation, by doing, reading, listening) Where was this learning taking place (school, college, work, online, leisure )

Activity 2 Record your findings in your learning journal or the worksheet. From your findings in Activity 1 summarise :- In what ways do you prefer to learn ? Do you learn more effectively in groups or alone and why ? What are the environments you prefer to learn in? What are your strengths and weakness as a learner ?
