2 ACTIVITIES SAMPLES FOR THE EUROPEAN WORKBOOK Session: 60’ Students: 12-15 years old Aims: 1.To identify and locate in a map the principal rivers and mountainous systems of the Spanish relief. 2.To identify and locate in a map, the different provinces that form the Spanish territory. 3.To identify, locate and know the history of the different monuments of our country. 4.To take part in the activities of group adopting a responsible, constructive and solidarity behavior. 5.To use the ICT as a instrument for learning and sharing knowledge. GEOGRAPHY: Spanish tour Methodology: Class divided into 8 groups: Group 1: To locate, in a physical map of Spain, the principal rivers and mountainous systems in Spain. Group 2: To locate and identify in a map all the provinces that form Spain. Groups 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8: To draw and look for information about the most important monuments in Spain. *U-shaped class Resources: encyclopedias, maps and ICT (Internet)

4 ACTIVITIES SAMPLES FOR THE EUROPEAN WORKBOOK HISTORY & MUSIC: Best Spanish music Composers Session: 60’ Students: 12-15 years old Aims: 1.To search for relevant information on the main Spanish music composers (Use of ICT). 2.To organise all the material found. 3.To classify in a chronological order the Spanish music composers.

5 ACTIVITIES SAMPLES FOR THE EUROPEAN WORKBOOK HISTORY & MUSIC: Best Spanish music composers Methodology: In groups of 4 or 5 students will have to: To look for relevant information on well-known Spanish music composers throughout history. To organise the info found. To share material and make the final product : a chronological study of famous Spanish music composers. LITERATURE: Authors & Novels Session: 60’ Students: 12-15 years old Aims: 1.To identify different authors and novels of the Spanish literature. 2.To value the literary manifestations as am expression of values, ideas and feelings. 3.To enjoy the literature as source of new knowledge and experiences, and as pleasant activity to be done during leisure time. 4.To be able to use. Critically, the bibliographical sources, adapted for the study of the literature. 5.To take part in group activities taking a responsible, constructive and solidarity behavior. 6.To use the ICT as an instrument to learn and to share knowledge.

7 ACTIVITIES SAMPLES FOR THE EUROPEAN WORKBOOK LITERATURE: Authors & Novels Methodology: Class divided into 5 groups. Each group will work on two authors and two novels.  Resources: ICT (Internet) and encyclopedias  Final Product: To fill in a table with info about different authors and famous works in Spanish Literature. ARTS: Portraits of a Nobleman Session: 60’ Students: 12-15 years old Aims: 1.To identify the character of “El Quijote”. 2.To relate paintings and literature. 3.To develop artistic skills. 4.To promote creativity. 5.To take part in group activities taking a responsible, constructive and solidarity behavior. 6.To use the ICT as an instrument to learn and to share knowledge.

8 Example: Pablo Picasso (1955) Methodology: This activity consists of looking for pictures of “El Quijote” (character based on the novel " Don Quijote de la Mancha " written by Miguel de Cervantes) the pictures are doing by famous painters. Under the illustration they will have to add the biography of the author. They will work on this activity in groups, and later they will read jointly with the whole class. Resources: encyclopedias and ICT (Internet)
