 Body language: One of the reasons why this image represents depression is because of the body language. The guy sitting in a bench alone like he is disappointed and needs some time alone. His body also shows that he is in depression because he has his hands in his back of the neck and he has his head looking towards the floor.  Color: This image is in black and white which always shows a boring or bad mood like depression. It has a little more white so it isn’t that boring, it makes it more sad than boring.  Surroundings: The surroundings of this image includes a bench outside and I think this represents depression because the guy needs some air alone.

 Body Language: The painting is similar to the first image. His body language shows depression because this man is sitting in a chair reflecting about something. What makes it look depressing is that he is looking down with both of his hands covering his face like he is depressed.  Color & Style: Vincent Van Gogh paints this with many colors but does not make this image very bright. This makes it give a negative side to the painting and the post-impressionist style with many curves makes it be a little bit more depressed  Surroundings: Like in the 1 st image this man is pretty much lonely in the image, there’s only a chair and the little fireplace at the side. This makes the man look lonely and in depression.

 Body Language: This picture identifies depression because the girl looks disappointed because she is sitting in the corner with her knees bent towards her like he wants people to know that she’s depressed and she needs to be alone or needs support.  Colors: The black and white makes the image more sad and in this case it makes it depressing. That is what I mostly think when I see black and white pictures this days.  Setting: The setting also shows that this image is depressing because the girl is alone in the corner looking out the window in depression.

 Lyrics: This song shows depression starting from the lyrics. The artist talks about being alone and insecure like if he was depressed. The singer sings this with passion like if he really means it and was really depressed.  Rhythm: The rhythm of this song is mostly slow but it also changes to make it feel like he is really depressed and desperate.

 Rhythm: The rhythm of this song is very slow and it has few instruments that make it a sad depressing moment.  Lyrics: This song has no lyrics which goes in perfectly when people want to be alone because they are depressed and would like to reflect on something.

“Depression is the inability to construct a future.” Rollo May

 This quote represents depression because it is true, I think that when you are depressed it is harder to construct a future.  I believe that when you are depressed you have the inability to see a bright future.
