pH scale This scale is used to determine the concentrat’n of H + ions versus OH - ions Things that are neutral are pH 7, acids are below 7 and bases are above 7

pH scale As you go from pH 7 to pH 8 there are 10 times more OH - ions Every level of the pH scale represents a ten fold (ten times) increase in the concentration of the H + or OH - ions

pH Scale So how much more acidic is lemon juice with pH 2 than saliva pH 6? 10 000! How much more basic is bleach pH 13 than sea water pH 8
