CHAPTER 3: BIODIVERSITY
BIODIVERSITY – the differences that exist between the same species of living things. CLASSIFICATION – the method of classification organisms based on their physical similarities and differences. HABITAT – a natural place where plants and animals live.
2
ANIMALS VERTEBRATES WARM-BLOODED EX: BIRDS AND MAMMALS COLD-BLOODED
EX: FISH, AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES INVERTEBRATES (tulang dalam badan) (tulang luar tiada tulang)

characteristics of Vertebrates
FISHES BIRDS AMPHIBIANS REPTILES MAMMALS Cool- blooded body covered with slimy scales Breathe using their gills Live in water The young are hatched out of egg Fertilisation is external Examples Shark, mudskipper, eel Warm-blooded Body covered with feathers Breathe using their lungs Fertilisation is internal Eagle, swan, pigeon cool-blooded. Live in water and land. The young breathe using their gills. The adult breathe using their lungs and slimy, moist skin. Fertilisation is external. Toad, frog, newt, salamander Body covered with dry, scaly skin. lay eggs. Fertilisation is internal. Snake, tortoise, crocodile Body covered with fur and hair. The young are born alive. Human being, dolphin, whale, cat..playtipus
