During the war most children had to be evacuated from their homes and cities to the country some children were treated badly at the country so parents summoned there children back to there home Click here To go back

The blitz was a period of time where the Germans bombed Britain. Many people were killed in the blitz and injured in it; many people died and homes where destroyed so that’s why people were evacuated from Britain. The blitz happened in 16 major cities in Britain Click here to go back

During the war 1/3 ofBritain's food was imported from country's overseas.lots of people didn’t grow there own food,so the government launched a schema to encourage people to grow there own food in there back gardens; parks were dug up to grow carrots and potatoes. shopping on the other hand made people have a fixed amount each week. The Women's Land Army (WLA) was a British civilian organisation created during the First and Second World Wars to work in replacement for men called up by the military. Women who worked for the WLA were commonly known as Land Girls. The name Women's Land Army was also used in the United States for an organisation formerly called the Woman's Land Army of America.
