Apprenticeship Brokers are employed by the Department for Education & Child Development (DECD) We facilitate this program in conjunction with Blackwood High School Russell Atwell Automotive Mechanical Technology Tradesperson Former Lecturer for TAFESA Automotive Program Apprenticeship Broker since March 2008 Who we are?

School Based Apprenticeships are a combination of; School Work (Paid Employment) Structured training/Skills training by a Registered Training Organisation. E.g. TAFE Skills training gives students Credits towards your SACE A School Based Apprenticeship is considered an integral part of your secondary studies What is a an School Based Apprenticeship

Students Must stay enrolled at school Your subject time table is modified so you can manage school & an Apprenticeship at the same time Work must be a minimum of 8 Hrs per week Students must sign a Training Contract with an employer. This is a legal document and parent or Guardian permission is required The principal must approve the School Based Apprenticeship How do School Based Apprenticeships work

Hidden Job Market Recognise that a Majority of ASBA’s are in a hidden job market, Approx. 80% of commencements. Networks Utilise others to connect with businesses that are in the industry your child is seeking E.g. You may know a Carpenter, however your child wants to be a plumber.
