5 Term 3 2007 ICT Coordintors Training Day Internet Filtering – tips for staff in schools Rather than making a request to unblock a website, it may often be more practical for staff to capture a particular resource on a blocked site, outside of the DET network, and place that resource on a local server for student access. 6 Term 3 2007 ICT Coordintors Training Day OASIS Enhancements to Assist Administration Staff from 15 October 2007 Student e-learning accounts and parental consent Student e-learning accounts and parental consent –the parental consent field for a student e- learning account will be set to ‘Y’ (for ‘yes’) by default. Administrators will not need to adjust this field manually unless the school has written advice that a parent does not wish their child to have an account – in this case the field should be changed to ‘N’

7 Term 3 2007 ICT Coordintors Training Day OASIS Enhancements to Assist Administration Staff from 15 October 2007 Enrolling prospective students Enrolling prospective students –The OASIS pre-enrolment module will have a new feature that allows invoices to be generated for pre-enrolled students. This means that administration staff can now assign pre-enrolment payments to the correct accounting grade

Login access to the new website will not be available to students and coordinators until March 2008. A link to the Premier's Reading Challenge has now been added to both the Kidspace and Student Portals. The new 2008 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge website is now available at http://www.schools.nsw.edu.au/premiersreadingchallenge or via the DET portal for Government school students and staff.
