4. Making Connections: Developing these Skills Across Subjects In order to further develop these skills, it is important to recognise that you are developing them in more than one subject. Your learning in one subject can support your learning in another subject or in many more subjects.

5. Linking Subjects Together: Discussion Point How can your learning in English support your learning in Physics, Chemistry or Biology? Which core skills do you develop in both subjects?

Scenario For example: When learning about the Wars of Independence in National 5 History, you could be asked to examine the different views of William Wallace by evaluating resources and writing a newspaper report. You may also be given an opportunity to re-enact Wallace’s trial.  How do these tasks connect with other subjects?  What subjects?  What Core Skills are being developed?

Scenario For example: When learning about the Wars of Independence in National 5 History, you could be asked to examine the different views of William Wallace by evaluating resources and writing a newspaper report.
