OBJECTIVES To inform community leaders and other professionals about Goodwill Industries’ resources that are currently assisting ex-offenders to successfully transition into the work force.

JOB PREPAREDNESS CLASS
Five-day intensive training includes: High energy training in job seeking skills Interview training/techniques Review of life planning, budgeting and time mgmt skills Resume writing and preparation assistance Class graduates receive Certificate of completion Ten printed resumes Interview clothing Classes offered continually throughout the year.

NETWORK CENTER Network Center puts training immediately into action with staff support as needed: Employment/job leads board, including listing of upcoming job fairs and employment events Internet availability for on-line employment search Telephones available for pursuing job leads “Hello” line available for messages from employers for participants without personal telephones

WHEELS TO WORK For a Participant to be awarded a car
The recipient must: Be employed 6 to 12 months prior to receiving the vehicle Lack sustainable transportation Be financially responsible in maintenance and upkeep Be referred by social services Have no drug charges or major driving violations Retain employment for at least 12 months after receiving vehicle and make monthly payments commensurate with initial investments
