7 Vitamin A - Deficiency Deficiency is rare in UK as it is found in a wide variety of food. Lack of Vitamin a can cause night blindness and poor eyesight. Excess in pregnancy can cause birth defects and women should avoid eating liver.

Rickets in children and brittle bones on older people. Rickets are becoming a problem in the UK due to children not playing outside in the sunlight.
