Set Assessments You can set assessments by: Year, Block and Unit Strand Assessment Focus. You can assign assessments to the whole class or to selected pupils within the class. You can set a start date and/or end date for the assessment. Pupils can make their own assessments and practice in their own time. Home access (optional) enables pupils to practise at home.
4
Set assessments by Year, Block and Unit, by Assessment Focus or by Strand.
5
Here’s an example of a Year, Block Unit assessment. Select the objectives you want to assess, then select the pupils.
6
You can decide when the assessment starts and finishes, when the pupils will see their assessment and add a note to pupils.
7
The assessment will then appear in your workspace.
8
See Evidence of Pupil Performance All the analysis of pupil answers is automatic. View reports for the whole class or for individual pupils. Enabling you to highlight individual and class, strengths and weaknesses The coloured squares indicate progress: Blue = Good Progress Yellow = Making Progress Orange = Needs Attention
9
Look across the rows for a pupil’s strengths and weaknesses. Look down the columns to view class performance.
10
Drill down to see more detailed reports for individual pupils. This view will help you set targets for improvement and track progress.
11
Track Progress Use the yellow and orange squares to identify areas to revisit. Assess the ‘problem’ objectives again: ‘It’s brilliant for picking up things I thought they had grasped. When we tested prime numbers a significant number had forgotten. I addressed this the next lesson and now they know.’ Year 6 teacher Pupil results stay in i-Progress throughout their time at your school making it easy to see and track progress. You can compare results between classes and year groups.
12
Personalise Support for All Using the reports you can easily identify your strongest and weakest pupils, helping you with planning and target setting. You can stretch the more able: i-Progress covers numeracy from levels 1-7. Set assessments for the whole class on the same objectives and i-Progress will personalise their assessment with ‘adaptive questions’. Adaptive questions mean that pupils will be motivated to achieve. Questions will be generated to support and/or stretch depending on pupil response to the previous question.
13
For Parents and Carers Print out individual pupil’s reports for parent/carer visits. Using these makes it easy to show progress, identify strengths and weaknesses and set targets. With Home Access parents/carers can log on at home and view their child’s results. They can also use the blog function to send a message to the teacher. Clear and easy to understand reports for parents/carers and pupils.
14
For Pupils By clicking on the headphone icon pupils can hear the question read aloud. Using the replay function pupils can see their answer alongside the model answer and compare it with their own. By using the Practice Area pupils can practice different types of questions before taking an assessment. Use the Blog to send a message to the teacher. Here are some examples from pupils in user schools: –‘i went back over on the fractions and got them all right.’ –‘i made my own test i got blue it made my feel proud with my self’
15
The replay function enables pupils to compare their own answer with the model answer.
16
