Three Heroes and Their Stories What all 3 men have in common 1 All were passive resistant 2 Great Heroes 3 Never stopped fighting for what they believed in even when they were harassed 4 All have died in the process Of making this world a better place 5 All were leaders 6 All were once jailed Mahtma Gandhi 1Studied the law 2 political and spiritual leader 3 became the leader of India’s Independence movement Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 1 Was born into a family of preachers and became one 2 Studied in segregated schools 3 Nobel peace prize winner of 1964 4 Famous for his speeches 5 Ran boycotts and would protest Nelson Mandela 1 Lived in a segregated world 2 Became President of South Africa 3 Was a principal and counselor 4 Won the Nobel peace prize in 1993

Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This is Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. giving one of his most famous speeches, “I Have Dream”, held in Washington D.C.

Mahtma Gandhi Gandhi is picking up salt in a civil rights movement. The salt march, led by Gandhi was an act of civil disobedience towards the British rule over India in 1930. In the salt march Gandhi and his followers marched several days to the ocean to make free salt which was illeagle over the British rule.

Nelson Mandela Mandela receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. This was for "for their work for the peaceful termination for laying the foundations for a new democratic South Africa"
