Issues in inclusion An athlete’s choice is essential. Every athlete is different and will require an individual approach. Use disability-specific information as background only. Duty of care and legal issues are the same as for athletes who do not have disabilities. 71

In summary Work with what a player can do; if unsure, ask them. Modify using TREE to better include all. Never undermine the integrity of the activity by making too many modifications. *Coaching softballers with a disability is simply best coaching practice 73
