3 doc.: IEEE 802.11-04/1078r0 SubmissionBill Carney (Texas Instruments)Slide 3 QoS Certification Next generation of Wi-Fi capable consumer electronics products need 802.11e QoS features to enable voice, video and other multimedia applications –A number of products expected to enter market 2H’04 In response, the Wi-Fi Alliance has taken a leadership position to assist in the orderly introduction of QoS features into the market by initiating the first phase of Multimedia interoperability certification in September 2004, based on a subset of features in 11e draft –Additional QoS features will be certifiable for interoperability in an additive manner, following completion of plugfests (i.e., HCCA, etc.…) and sufficient member product support of these features For launch, the Alliance has finalized a high-level, consumer-friendly brand name for certified QoS features
