3 doc.: IEEE 802.11-03/245r0 Submission March 2003 Y.Inoue, NTT Slide 3 T71 Ad hoc Working Group ARIB STD-T71 –Technical requirements and specifications for IEEE 802.11a systems to operate in Japan. –T71 Ad hoc WG has been created to revise the current ARIB STD-T71 to incorporate the technical requirements for 5GHz Band Wireless Access systems. Chair: Mr. Noboru Matsumoto, SpeedNet Member companies: Atheros, Canon, Denso, Fujitsu, Hitach Cable, Intel, Japan Telecom, JRC, Mitsubishi, Murata, NEC, NTT, TOYOCOM, Panasonic, Samsung, SpeedNet, TDK, Toshiba, TTNet, and more Supposed to finish its work by the end of March

The drafting group started to review current ARIB STD-T71 to find the sections to be modified. –Feb. 25: The 2nd meeting The initial version of the draft was presented to the WG members. Discussions: –Clarification for some texts (e.g. spurious emissions) –Channel numbering scheme, etc

Technical Requirement –Frequency Plan & Channelization –Radio Equipment Ordinance Article 49-21: (5GHz Band Wireless Access Systems) 20MHz/channel, 10MHz/channel, 5MHz/channel Transmit power, Spectrum mask, Spurious emission, etc Open Issue –Channel Numbering Method Currently, we have 1 proposal. But not adopted in the draft. T71 Ad hoc strongly hope to have the same mechanism with TGj. Chair of T71 Ad hoc sent an e-mail to ask for review of TGj draft.

Discussions by email if necessary. Apr./25(?):The draft must be fixed. May/(??):ARIB Standards Assembly. –The draft will be approved as ARIB STD-T71 ver.2. Ad hoc WG will be created again for further revisions
