doc.: IEEE 802.11-09/0715r9 Submission September 2009 Stephen McCann (RIM), Bruce Kraemer (Marvell) Introduction This document contains the report to the IEEE 802 Executive Committee showing that P802.11u has met the conditional requirements to proceed to sponsor ballot. The fifth recirculation ballot on TGu draft 8.0 (LB156) yielded a new Disapprove vote, and 5 new required comments associated with Disapprove votes. Subsequent discussions in TGu resulted in the withdrawal of these new required comments. The conditions for conditional approval under Clause 13 of the LMSC Operations Manual have been met. –This explained in more detail on slides 3-10 of this presentation. This document (11-09-0715r9) was approved during the closing plenary session of the 802.11 working group on 25 Sep 2009. –Passed in the Task Group yes, no, abstain –Passed in the Working Group yes, no, abstain Slide 2

doc.: IEEE 802.11-09/0715r9 Submission September 2009 Stephen McCann (RIM), Bruce Kraemer (Marvell) Sponsor Ballot Conditions (2) b) After resolution of the recirculation ballot is completed, the approval percentage is at least 75% and there are no new valid DISAPPROVE votes. Condition met: The approval percentage is 93%. There was 1 new valid DISAPPROVE vote. Following discussions in TGu, the voter’s single required comment was changed to not required (see email on slide #5). There were no comments which requested the TGu to change the draft in any way. Therefore the intent of the condition has been met. Slide 4

Best Regards Liwen -----Original Message----- From: Stephen McCann [mailto:smccann@rim.com] Sent: Monday, September 21, 2009 6:47 PM To: liwen.chu@st.com Subject: LB156 - IEEE 802.11u Draft 8.0 Comments Liwen, TGu is currently addressing comments from LB156 and notes that you have 1 technical required "TR" comment. TGu currently has 4 "TR" comments and 1 "ER" comment. To allow TGu to progress to sponsor ballot, would you be willing to change your comment to "T", so that it is no longer a "TR".
