Yes, alcoholism is heredity because it does run in the family that has a family member in the past that started to drink alcohol.

Alcoholism is a chronic disease in which your body becomes dependent on alcohol. Alcoholism is where you can’t control how much you are drinking or how many days. Alcoholism can affect your health, job, and home life.
