Onomatopoeia Words that represent the actual sound of something are words of onomatopoeia. The rain drops fell on the house.

Hyperbole Exaggerating to show strong feeling or effect. He is a million years old.

Understatement Expression with less strength than expected. We will be there in no time.

Alliteration Mrs. Shook should surely sleep late. The repetition of the first consonant sound in words.
