2 Remember 1st/2nd conjugation verbs
cēnō, cēnāre, cēnavī, cenatum maneō, manēre, mānsī, mānsum culpō, culpāre, culpavī, culpatum superō, superāre, superavi, superatum movēo, movēre, mōvī, mōtum How is the stem formed?

3 Imperfect Tense DO NOT TRANSLATE AS "I verbed!"
The imperfect tense is one of the six tenses in Latin. It refers to a past action and can be translated the following ways: I was verbing I used to verb I kept on verbing DO NOT TRANSLATE AS "I verbed!"

4 Imperfect Tense Endings
Singular Plural 1st person -bam I was praising -bāmus we were praising 2nd person -bās You were praising -bātis y'all were praising 3rd person -bat He/she/it was praising -bant they were praising The imperfect will ALWAYS have -ba- in it.

5 Imperfect tense Those endings (-bam, -bas, -bat, etc.) will attach to the end of the stem as usual. Example: laudō, laudāre, laudavī, laudātum laudō, laudā/re laudā+ending --> laudābam, laudābās, etc.

6 Future Tense Same stem, new endings
Remember, these are only for 1st/2nd conjugation verbs Future may be translated as follows: I will verb I shall verb* shall = used in first person only unless it's a command/prophecy

7 Beware the vowel change: bo/bi/bi/bi/bi/bu
Future Tense Endings Singular Plural 1st person -bō I shall praise -bimus we will praise 2nd person -bis You will praise -bitis y'all will praise 3rd person -bit He/she/it will praise -bunt they will praise bam = was, bis = will Beware the vowel change: bo/bi/bi/bi/bi/bu

8 Imperfect tense Those endings (-bō, -bis, -bit, etc.) will attach to the end of the stem as usual. Example: laudō, laudāre, laudavī, laudātum laudō, laudā/re laudā+ending --> laudābō, laudābis, etc.

9 Adjectives ending in -er
Some adjectives of 1st/2nd declension end in -er. They should not be a problem provided that the feminine and neuter forms are memorized in order to get the base. līber, lībera, līberum (free) pulcher, pulchra, pulchrum (beautiful) Līber would decline līber, līberī, līberō... while pulcher would decline pulcher, pulchrī, pulchrō...

11 Translate Magister noster mē laudat et crās tē laudābit.
Invidiam populī Rōmānī crās nōn sustinēbis. Perīculumne igitur herī remanēbat? Superā īram tuam. Culpa est mea, Ō amīcī.

12 Translate Propter adulēscentiam, fīliī meī, mala vītae nōn vidēbātis.
Satisne sānus es? Semper glōria et fāma tua manēbunt.

13 Thermopylae (300) "Exercitus noster est magnus," Persicus inquit, "et propter numerum sagittārum nostrārum caelum nōn vidēbitis!" Tum Lacedaemonius respondet: "In umbrā, igitur, pugnābimus!" Exercitus = army Persicus, -ī = a Persian inquit = says sagitta, -ae = arrow respondēre = to respond umbra, -ae = shade, pugnāre = to fight shadow
