2.  Consistently update your page. This means posting a new Tweet about once a day.  Consistently interact with your fans. If someone posts a compliment, be sure to tweet them back and thank them personally! If you come across a negative tweet about your organization, try to correct the situation personally.  Use a human tone when posting on your organization’s Twitter page, not a professional one. This helps to humanize your organization.  Always be open and honest. If your organization makes a mistake, own up to it immediately and publicly.

3.  Create Twitter lists for specific publics and use them to track what people are saying about your organization or issues that affect your organization.  Use a dashboard, such as Hootsuite, to schedule Tweets.  Consider peak timing when posting Tweets. Later in the day is typically best.
