Web 2.0 Term coined in 2004 by Tim OReilly Meaningless buzzword? Definition: Web 2.0 is a term often applied to a perceived ongoing transition of the World Wide Web from a collection of websites to a full-fledged computing platform serving web applications to end users. Web 3.0 Web 3.0 is about making all this technology and content smarter (using the Semantic Web and microformats, etc.) and by adding more smarts to applications so they can do a better job of helping humans (natural language search, semantic search, recommendation agents, etc.) ~Dan Farber
