Aspects of a Good Director Must be organized Must have artistic and visual talents Must know most technical standards Must communicate well all instructions Must work well with others Have experience with many facets of production

Film Style Directing Post production allows for different priorities when directing Your goal as director is to affect the videotaping or filming of all scenes so they can be edited into a quality program Must be aware of all post production needs (it is too late once the set is struck)

Characteristics of a Film Style Director Script Analysis –Must know the script –Must discuss with producer and scriptwriter all aspects of script –Must consult above for changes to script (you are not always free to make changes)

Characteristics of a Film Style Director Visualization and Sequencing –Must have a picture in your head of all movements –Must have a creative imagination –Must have an understanding of timing and script sequences

Characteristics of a Film Style Director Technical Coordination –Must be Aware of all production aspects –Must be prepared to troubleshoot problems –Must be able to communicate the vocabulary of each segment of production
