2 Our Mission The International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

11 Diploma Requirements Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) CAS is a fundamental part of the IB program. The CAS requirements takes seriously the importance of life outside the world of scholastics. Each IB student is required to complete 150 hours of community service before they graduate. 12 Diploma Requirements The Extended Essay – IB Students are required to undertake an original research paper of 4,000 words maximum. This essay offers the students the opportunity to investigate a topic of special interest and become acquainted with the kind of independent research and writing skills expected at the university level. 13 Diploma Requirements Theory of Knowledge – TOK is a course unique to the IB program. It is mandatory for every student. Students are helped to consider how they know what they know and to develop habits of reflection in a deeper intellectual experience. TOK involves 100 hours of teaching time.
