Speakers with accurate sound for a specific use More reliable than home stereo speakers
4
Drivers are The actual devices that moves air in a speaker
5
Direct Radiating Cone Speakers Provide the low and mid frequency components of the audio signal.
6
Horn Compression Drivers utilize the same core functionality as the cone speaker. The compression driver is loaded down by air pressure by a horn lens. More efficient used to reproduce upper midrange and high frequencies.
7
Sealed Enclosures sealed enclosure eliminate diffraction by closing off the path by which the rear-generated sound wave can combine with the front-generated sound wave.
8
Infinite Baffle design utilizes a very large sealed enclosure in an attempt to take advantage of the resonance within the enclosure
9
Acoustic Suspension utilizes a very small enclosure which is sealed to eliminate diffraction.
10
Bass Reflex attempts to release the audio energy generated inside the enclosure in a way that augments its low frequency response
11
The Passive Radiator utilizes a passive “Dummy” speaker in addition to the active speaker the passive speaker has no magnet or coil and doesn’t receive audio signal it supports the motion of the active speaker by moving additional air to the active speaker.
13
Transmission Line utilizes an extended length port in an attempt to shift the phase of sound waves generated by the rear of the speaker cone by at least 90 degrees. -
14
Component Alignment the process of positioning speakers so that the sound they produce is Identical in phase to the source audio signal.
15
Time alignment the process of positioning speakers so that the sound they produce is identical in phase to the source audio signal
16
Tweeter A small loud speaker designed to reproduce high-pitch sounds in a high-fidelity audio system
