2 K-4 Standards: A1,2,9 – Grade 1 Vocabulary Identify basic computer parts: computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse Uses proper vocabulary for on-screen items such as icons, software, shortcuts, scroll bar Operating System Logon/off the network Print to network printer Icons Starts programs from the desktop Recognizes common icons such as print, save

3 K-4 Standards: A1,2,9 – Grade 2 Vocabulary Identify basic computer parts: computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse Uses proper vocabulary for on-screen items such as icons, software, shortcuts, scroll bar Operating System Logon/off the network Save file to u drive Open a saved file from u drive Print to network printer Icons Starts programs from the desktop Recognizes common icons such as print, save, copy and paste, undo

4 K-4 Standards: A2,7,B10,B1 – Grade 3 Operating System Logon/off the network Open a file from u drive or work folder Save to u drive Print to network printer Maintain files and folders Gives documents appropriate names Renames a document Solves simple hardware problems Reboot computer to handle minor problems Handle web page errors correctly (retypes web address, refreshes screen) Common uses of computer applications Describes everyday uses for word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software

5 K-4 Standards: A2,7,B10, B1 – Grade 4 Operating System Logon/off the network Open a file from u drive or work folder Save to u drive Print to network printer Maintain files and folders Create folders within u drive (ie literacy, math, etc.) Save files to subfolders Solves simple hardware problems Reboot computer to handle minor problems Handle web page errors correctly (retypes web address, refreshes screen) Common uses of computer applications Describes everyday uses for word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

6 K-4 Standards: A3 Keyboarding Grade 1 Identify special keyboard keys: ctrl, alt, del, shift, caps lock, backspace Grade 2 Identify special keyboard keys: ctrl, alt, del, shift, caps lock, backspace Inputs 25+ words into a document and 10+ numbers into a spreadsheet Grade 3 Familiar with most keys on the keyboard – including the numeric keypad and arrow keys Can successfully input a piece of writing in a word processing document with multiple paragraphs Grade 4 Can type at a rate of at least 10 wmp with a maximum of 10 errors
