Did you know? All 53 teachers at STMA Middle School East have a website where you can find assignments and other daily happenings. There are 10 human body parts that are only 3 letters long. Every story in our Language Arts textbook can be seen online! In fact, I won’t even be giving you a book to carry around! The human head has 22 bones.

Daily Routines Our daily agenda is posted on the back board each day. Please do not ask me what we’re doing! When you enter the classroom, use this agenda to make sure you have everything you need in the classroom. Assignment due dates are posted on the large calendar on the back board (as well as on the website). These dates should be written in your assignment book. If you are absent, please check my website for missed work before asking me. I will attach copies of assignments to the webpage whenever possible. Late work will be accepted until the end of the current unit and will receive 80% of your earned score. All late work should be turned in to the bottom bin on my filing cabinet (marked “late”).

Daily Routines If you are absent one day, you have one extra day to turn in your work (without losing credit). Please write “Absent” on top of any work you turn in late due to an absence and turn it in to the “late” bin. We start each class period with our “Sacred Ten”: ten minutes for silent, independent reading. This means you will need your own book with you each and every day! You should start this activity independently. The bell does NOT dismiss you. I will do that when we have finished. If you are being disruptive (or just distracting), I will place a yellow card on your desk. This is your signal that the behavior needs to stop. A red card will serve as a final warning. If your behavior continues, I will write you a pass to the planning room.
