2 Session 4 Working in small groups, participants will answer the following questions: 1.As a sector, what do you think you can do/ or capable of doing to improve TB control program in your localities/ areas of coverage? 2.What technical assistance your sector needs in order to perform/accomplish # 1?

3 Roles of NAPC Basic Sectors/CSO Partners in TB Control SectorPossible Area of Involvement in TB Control (refer to the slide on WHO ENGAGE TB) Technical Assistance Requirements FISHERFOLK COUNCIL 1. Popularization of TB Control in Council-based areas1. IEC Materials (includes data) 2. Inclusion of TB Control in the Social Services Committee of the Council (The Council could suggest 2 pilot areas simultaneous to the conduct of island wide consultation) 2. IEC Materials, Orientation 3. Facilitation of Educational Campaign in the pilot areas targeting fisherfolk, fisherfolk leaders, BHWs in the community, especially patients and their family members) 3. Orientation and Training Support (e.g. resource persons, meal and transpo allowance, venue) 4. Facilitation of training for Council members and BSWs in areas on ensuring active and sustainable engagement to LGUs on health service support 4. Orientation and Training Support (e.g. resource persons, meal and transpo allowance, venue)

Detection – Cough Caravan in areas/s with informal sector 2.Facilitation of check-ups near their areas 3. Advocacy -Proper hygiene -Smoking areas 3. Training – - Mapping of areas with implemented ordinances 4. Social and livelihood support4. Provision of self-help programs -Skills training -Support from other members ex. Toda, vendors association

5 SectorPossible Area of Involvement in TB Control (refer to the slide on WHO ENGAGE TB) Technical Assistance Requirements PWDs 1. Some PWD organizations are already involved in the detection and treatment adherence support for tuberculosis -Tools -Technology needed for implementation of the TB treatment - Human resources who will help in the treatment process 2. PWD organizations can contribute in prevention and stigma reduction for patients affected with tuberculosis -Awareness raising on the causes, prevention and cure of TB most especially in the regions. The awareness raising activity will be used as a tool for stigma reduction of patients with TB. - Disseminate IEC materials that could support awareness raising. 2.

Referral works 1.1.c. Treatment adherence /bantay inum gamot 1.1.d. Referrals for possible social and livelihood support among IP families whohave family member detected as TB positive. 1.IMPACT- IP focal person who will served as: technical monitoring officer for the IP intervention: 2.- formation /capacitation training for the IP team as IP Team for TB 3.Funding support 4.Technical support 5.Linking with other health providers
