Health indicators... Definitions; Health ; state of complete physical, Mental, and social well-being and not merely absence of disease or infirmity Indicator; a measurable variable used to determine the degree of adherence to a standard (desired performance)

Health Indicators... Currently desired health performance are in line with the MDGs on health and the National Health Strategic Plan

Health indicators... The following are some of the Health indicators in Zambia; 1.Child Health - Under five Mortality rate (119 per 1,000 live births) -infant mortality rate (70 per 1,000 live births) -Percentage of 1 year-old children immunized against Measles

Health Indicators... 2. Maternal Health -Maternal Mortality rate -percentage of births attended by skilled health personnel

Health Indicators... 3.HIV/AIDS -HIV/AIDS prevalence rate -percentage of population 15-24 years with comprehensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS -percentage of current users of Contraception who are using condoms

Health Indicators... 3.Malaria -percentage of population in Malaria risk areas using effective malaria prevention and treatment measures -percentage of children under five sleeping under ITN -percentage of children under five with fever who are appropriately treated.

Health Indicators... 4.Life expectancy at birth (in years) 5.Total Fertility rate

Health Indicators... 6.Basic Environmental health facilities -percentage of population using solid fuels -percentage of population with sustainable access to an improved water source -percentage of population with access to improved sanitation

Health indicators... Nutrition -Stunting; percentage of under five who are stunted (45%) -Wasting; percentage of Under five years who are wasted (5%) -Underweight; percentage of children who are over weight (8%)
