Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread (Matthew 6:9-13) Learning To Leave EVERYTHING To God

The Plight Of The Israelites (Ex. 16:1-6) Over A Million People, Along With Livestock Were Led By Moses Into The Dry Wilderness. – They Were In Legitimate Need Of Food. – They Began Complaining And Grumbling. What Was The Problem? – They Had Just Been Delivered From Egypt. – They Had Passed Through The Red Sea. – They Had Been Miraculously Given Water. – They Should Have Trusted God By Now!

Gods Divine Intervention (Ex. 16:4-7) God promised that each morning they would have enough for a day; 2 days before Sabbath. Quail in the evening, manna in the morning. (12) – Gather Just Enough For The Day. (16) – God Would Ensure Each Had Enough. (18) – They Were To Use It All Up Each Day. (20) – They Were To Skip Sabbath Gathering. (26)

The Israelites Problem: Disbelief! They Grumbled And Never Should Have. (7) They Tried To Hold On To Excess Manna. (20) They Tried To Gather On The Sabbath. (27-30) They Wanted Better Gifts From God. (Num. 11:4) So We See That They Were Not Able To Enter Because Of Unbelief.- Heb.3:19

Asking For Just Enough (Matt. 6:11) Jesus Prayed, Give us this day our daily bread. – What does this mean? – Each day has enough trouble of its own (Matt. 6:34) – Give All Your Worries, Cares, And Concerns To Him! – TRUST that God will take care of everything in life.

Can We Ask For Too Much? Proverbs 30:8-9 – Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion, That I not be full and deny You and say, "Who is the LORD?" Or that I not be in want and steal, And profane the name of my God. Have You Ever Asked God To Limit Your Income, Social Status, Amount Of Stuff, etc.? – Remember the danger of stuff-itis! (Hos. 13:4-6)

The Baptism Of Charlemagne Wanted men to be saved, but still able to kill in war. Had them all baptized holding their swords out of the water. The Idea: All of them devoted to God…EXCEPT their swords. Have we been holding anything out of the water since our baptism?

Holding On Or Letting Go? (James 4:1-10) Why Did God Refuse To Answer Their Prayers? – They asked for all the wrong reasons! – They hadnt first fixed their hearts! – They hadnt fully submitted to Him! They Were Holding Onto Worries; They Were Too Proud To Let God Handle Their Problems!

Some Questions: Do I Appreciate And Thank God For His Help In The Past And Present? Do I Allow Fears And Worries To Paralyze Me? Do I Trust God Will Give Me What I Need? Do I Pray For Needs With The Right Motives? Do I Ask God To Not Give Me Too Much? Do I Have The Humility And Trust To Let God Handle The Concerns And Worries Of My Life?

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit. Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that. – James 4:13-15
