3 FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid You will be able to fill this out beginning in January. You will need your parent(s) or guardian(s) info (Completed taxes or estimate) and yours, if you work. The parent or guardian that claims you on their taxes will be whose info you use. Pay attention to priority deadlines for the schools you are interested in You can’t just “move out” and get more money!

5 EFC Estimated Family Contribution Determined by your FAFSA 0=Best Number to Have on This!!!

6 Amount of Financial Aid You Need COA (Cost of Attendance) - EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) Amount of Financial Aid You Need* *Can be filled with scholarships, grants, loans, or work study

7 What Can I Do Now? Register for your PIN (You’ll do this with Mr. Whitt.) KEEP YOUR PIN NUMBER IN YOUR BINDER, WALLET, PHONE, ETC. Make sure your parents have a PIN Talk to your parents about paying for college Keep track of deadlines (apps, ACT, etc.) Look for scholarship applications and opportunities
