INSTRUCTIONS 1.Page Interpreter Services #6681 They will try to contact a face to face interpreter. 2.Press power button 3.COW (depends on which machine you are using-please look at sticker on machine you are using) Log In: Password: CASE SENSATIVE! 1

Click on American Sign Language Folder 2

Click on Lifelinks Video Icon 3

Fill in all the fields. Caller Full Name Patient Full Name Department 4 Click here if you want to request a male or female interpreter.

Click on “Place Call” 5

As call is being placed, video camera will show “local” picture. 6

American Sign Language interpreter will come on screen. 7

The interpreter will ask you a few questions including where you are calling from. Work with the interpreter to position the camera so he or she can see the patient. Talk to the patient directly, you do not need to say “Interpreter please say” Respect privacy. When necessary: –Turn the camera away –Use the mute button on the microphone 8

When you are finished click X to end the call. 9

Click “Close the session” Wipe down machine following proper hospital procedure. Document in chart that Video Sign Language Interpreter was used. 10
